Luke 5:4 - 11

4When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Put out into deep water, and let down the nets for a catch.” 5Simon answered, "Master, we've worked hard all night and haven't caught anything. But because you say so, I will let down the nets 6When they had done so, they caught such a large number of fish that their nets began to break. 7So they signaled their partners in the other boat to come and help them, and they came and filled both boats so full that they began to sink. 8When Simon Peter saw this, he fell at Jesus’ knees and said, “Go away from me, Lord; I am a sinful man!”9For he and all his companions were astonished at the catch of fish they had taken, 10and so were James and John, the sons of Zebedee, Simon’s partners.Then Jesus said to Simon, “Don’t be afraid; from now on you will fish for people.” 11So they pulled their boats up on shore, left everything and followed him.

Dictionary Definition:

Faith: noun

1. complete trust or confidence in someone or something

2. belief in the doctrines of a religion, based on spiritual conviction rather than proof.

But is faith really a noun???

Bible definition:

Hebrews 11:1 For faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.

James 2:17 - In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead; it's useless

Having faith isn't enough! We have to DO FAITH! If you have a headache and I give you tylenol, will your headache go away because it’s in your hand? NO! You have to do something with what you have in order to get the benefit of it! You have to TAKE the tylenol!

There are certain things that doing faith requires of us:

• It requires us to be vulnerable

• It requires us to be brave

• It requires us to be patient

• It requires us to dig deep

• It requires us to dig deeper

• It requires a change in habits

• It requires a change in "diet"

So what should we do?! - Our most appropriate response to all of this is to DO IT ANYWAY!
